Cabo and Las Barrilles, meeting Sara!

Sallysouth - 5-9-2005 at 04:34 PM

Fifteen years since I had been to Cabo, and as I had been told, the growth was staggering! So many huge hotels and homes all along the coast, and the town was totally different than what I remembered. Mijas house is up on the hill, way out of town on the road to Todos Santos, so we were'nt actually in the hub-bub of it all.Nice Pacific breezes blowing thru the house during the day and a great view of the bay and surrounding areas. We got some afternoon beach days in and the water was as clear as can be and warm enough to make you not want to get out!We even got a "boat day" in ! Ate some yummy food in the marina, and did some great shopping.Toward the end of my stay, which I changed three times(intinerary, that is)We decided to take a day trip to meet Sara and see her gallery. What a charming, interesting place she has, so full of history and unique pieces of art! We were taking it all in, and hearing the stories about the artists, feeling the energy surround us. What a lovely woman Sara is and warm and sincere,so full of creativity!! We all(Rachel, Juanita, myself and Sara) went to lunch, chatted about life, hugged and said our goodbyes, with smiles in our hearts.I will be going back soon and I will see her again!! I had a wonderful vacation and the people there were all warm and friendly, always accomodating or willing to help. Some of you may say(Cabo, yuk) but for me, it was a special time and I may become a permanent resident !

Weird

Sally, I had not read your post when I made mine. Guess that there was a lot of hugging going on in Los Barriles!
Glad you enjoyed your trip! Sounds like the family has a nice place and as long as you get away from the madness, it is beautiful.
Did you get to try any of the restaurants I recommended? Would love to hear your opinion.
Abrazos

Judy!

Yes I so enjoyed my trip that I am making plans to move south, permanete!!Juanita told me about you and we will surely meet when I get back. It's gonna get a bit toasty for my liking (weatherwise) but I figure I will just have to get used to it.We did'nt have the chance to sample the fares in your recommened resaurants because, partly, mostly, we have a baby that goes to bed at 6:30.I still have your list of your favorites and we will get to them when time allows. Hope all is well with you and I am so glad you got a "Sara Hug" also!!!Abrazos, Sally (did you know her REAL name is Sally??aka Sara?):saint:

Wonderful!
We will definitely get together when you get back. I know that Juanita must be thrilled that you are moving down here. You will have a/c , right?!?!?!
Yes I knew Sara when she was Sally or something like that. Guess that she is back in Oaxaca.
Stay in touch. When do you think you will be here?

Sara, I'm not sure when I will be back down your way(in Baja) but I would say probably when you get back there, after the heat. What is going on with you???? Where is that muse?? Could be a time warp or heat prostation or... I sure miss your stories. Are you back on the mainland now as you had planned? Both Juanita and myself so enjoyed our afternoon with you. I think Rachel kinda liked you too! I have a great pic of the three of us, you, me and Rachel. Its on my corkboard in the kitchen. I'll be keeping an eye out for any post from you! Besos, Sally
