BajaCactus reservation

bajalera - 6-21-2005 at 04:12 PM

Yes, this should be a U2U instead of a post, but my U2U list has no record of the one sent to BajaCactus yesterday, which apparently didn't fly.

If you still have any rooms, Antonio, please reserve one for me, my son and grand-daughter for July 22 and 23.

Thanks, Lera

Hey Lera, whats bajacactus? Excuse my ignorance.....

David K - 6-21-2005 at 06:40 PM

Den, see: http://vivabaja.com/bajacactus and http://vivabaja.com/fiesta and http://vivabaja.com/1104

The first site is when we met Antonio ('BajaCactus'at JR's for a family style BBQ)

The second is at the first Baja Cultural Fiesta (in Tijuana) that over 70 Nomads and Baja loving people atteneded... this was hosted by Antonio and his family.

The third link is to my Thanksgiving '04 trip with Antonio to El Rosario... where the Baja Cactus Motel and Pemex station is located (next door to each other).

The July 22-24 Baja Cultural Festival is spearheaded by Antonio... See you there!

Anyone wishing to camp at La Lobera during the festival, please post or u2u me. Rob of the Diamante Del Mar Resort has contacted the owner of La Lobera, who was given us permission to camp there. He would like a head count so the restaurant at La Lobera can be stocked with enough food!!!

doesn't Baja Cactus have a website?

David K - 6-27-2005 at 07:57 PM

http://www.bajacactus.com

But all you get there is the address and phone number. Antonio has been too busy with these events, remodeling the motel... and Pemex business...too

Antonio is reading Nomad now, we are IMing...

Count me "in"

Has the "official" camping spot been changed ?.....thought it was bocana?.....

Jim,
La Bocana is the site Antonio can secure with what has already been listed. La Lobera is Jimmy's property and Antonio cannot guarantee it for anyone... It is a very beautiful place, and if that restaurant is open, will be an option... But, it is not one that Antonio personally can guarantee (which I don't think any Nomad would expect him to, anyway.)

Camping site...

BajaCactus - 6-27-2005 at 08:57 PM

Surfer Jim,

The camping spot we picked for the Festival is La Bocana...this is an open shore and is very close to town.

Usually there is no camping facilities at this site, but for the Festival we are having porta-potties, security, fresh water and some other stuff.

Also we are having story telling by some elders from town on friday 22nd... from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm... around a fire, maybe a translator as well.

La Lobera is a very beautiful place, mostly cliff sides, and it will be included in our guided tours from town.... however, it is not near town and it is privately owned and we have no other activities planned on that place...

If anyone wishes to camp there instead, please e-mail me at festival@bajacactus.com and I will secure a spot for you... and that is as far as I can guarantee.

I think BOCANA will be fine and just leave it at that....no need to add choices as it will add confusion at the same time...anything else can just be a side trip....thanks for the update.....
