I sent this in to the editor:
"Hey! what a surprise to see Larry in the August issue I just received.
I 1st met Larry at a Baja enthusiasts party Feb. 2002 in Oceanside CA.. it was called "Viva Baja!" He got the prize for flying in from the farthest
location, that being El Paso TX. I came in 2nd having flown in from my base at Scottsdale AZ. All the rest were mainly from CA.
Larry is just as you depict - it's my pleasure to know him. His love for flying and Baja is rarely matched by others. I hope i am as active when i get
into my "golden" years!
Love the wine info - looking forward to returning to Santa Ynez!"

yes, no. 3 - i couldn't recall which one it was, but thought feb '02.
