Tropical Storm Irwin has formed and was located near 17.5 North,
108.2 West or about 390 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California. Irwin was moving to the west around 12 mph. Maximum sustained winds were near 40 mph with gusts near 50 mph. The estimated minimum central pressure was 1004 millibars or 29.65 inches. Irwin is expected to continue moving west over the next several days. While Irwin is currently encountering some wind shear, this is forecasted to relax in the next two to three days and thus further strengthening of Irwin is expected.

The remnants of Tropical Depression Hilary were located about 850 miles west of the southern tip of Baja California and will continue to move farther west and will weaken.

Bruce the swelling has gone down.:P

Tomas
Not much happening this morning, although I would expect it to build with Tropical Storm Irwin down there.

Tomas Tierra - 8-26-2005 at 09:42 AM

Muchisimas Gracias Judy..

Siempre curioso Yo....I don't get down that far very often, But it is surfers paradise this time of year!! Especially when the odd swell goes straight up into the gulfo...

How did the new harbor fare with that last big swell??

bajajudy - 8-26-2005 at 08:28 PM

There are many rentacars with boards on top. I havent heard any news about shipwrecks or 9palms....9 sharks to we locals.
There were an average number of people in the water today at old mans and zippers. went by too fast to look too closely but it didnt look like much.
you should come down this time of year.

opps I forgot the marina ????
It is full. The breakwater seemed to have changed the course of the ocean so it really eroded on the estuary side of the rocks. They have been working on it since then.

So far no biggy with Irwin.
