I did a day trip yesterday to help some friends quickly retrieve some things they had left in their Playa Bonita based trailer when on vaca last week
that they needed in PHX. So saved them an 8 hour day driving just for that with 2.5 hours air time.
The new runway paving and parking with tie downs is fantastic. Work on the terminal is 1st rate, nice offices and facililities. Alonzo busy with the
action at Mayan Palace which owns the old airport now re habbed while planning the jet port to come as their staff aviation consultant. Latest scoop
is the existing airport will remain for GA after the new one is completed. A "sister city" is in the works.
Unfortuneatly Scottsdale screwed up my overflight renewal app and i had to clear in Tucson but the boys there were friendly and efficient. The
daughter forgot her picture ID and caused some extra computer work to see who she was, but a slight suggestion to bring it next time then we're back
in the air for P19 then DVT base.
thumbs up for MMPE. an easy quick 1 hr. hop from PHX or TUS and yur on the water.
I feel bad for those that like to go but have to drive 4 hours each way for a weekend. Ain't flyin' great!!
and forgot to add, Jose' at the counter handled all fast and friendly, pre filled my return plan when we checked in so leaving was a one minute deal.
