Watch for "Mariachi; Spirit of Mexico" on PBS. Performances are from a Mariachi festival in Guadalajara with big production numbers and is narrated by
Placido Domingo.
Not something I'd normally enjoy, let alone ever be caught recommending, but this was good stuff.
It was on KOCE in OC tonight and is on again Friday 9/16 at 9pm.
It's "Hispanic Heritage Month" on PBS so it may be showing in other locations.

Yeah I saw that program last year. Interesting how more and more of the World is embracing mariachi music-- from Japan to Croatia (the Croatia guys
were shown taking their music to the people out on the plaza. Sort of a test to see if they would be accepted). Fantistic program!!!
