Rumors are that Landon is working on the next edition... The current one with all color topgraphy and the entire peninsula in one book (both big
improvements) came out in Spring 2003, I think.
The latest AAA Baja map is dated 2003-2004 and replaced the 2001 edition. So, every 2-3 years perhaps...?

I finally saw the turnoff for Las Pintas this last trip....I thought it was further down the road than it was....also the "old road " turnoff was not
to be seen by me on the way in..even with the mileage checked...but on the way out it was easy to see...just the way the desert plays tricks on you
...that and a few well placed bushes hid it from view the first time...had gps but forgot that you use a different datum for mexico and it was no
help...

For the record: The GPS comes set to map datum WGS84 and Mexico's government maps (from which the Baja Almanac is made) are drawn to map datum NAD27.
The difference is quite small, so you would be close... The datum is easily changed in your unit's setup menu... You can go back and forth between
them. Just make sure you are on NAD27Mexico when you enter the waypoints from me, Neal Johns, or others who have them for Baja set on the Mexican
datum.
I missed the old road that goes direct to El Rosario going south, as well. Because I was on the parallel smooth track on the left, instead of the
graded roadbed. It is 5.9 to 6.0 miles from Mex. 1 (at the curve).

If you want to go high tech and have a Garmin GPS and the Mapsource program this add on program http://www.lbmaps.com/ will put Mexican topo directly into your GPS. The map base appears to be similar to existing Garmin USA Topo which is the
1:100,000 series maps with 50 meter contours

If you have no Garmin it could cost you a minimum of ~$300:
$90 for LB maps "Baja Expeditioner"
$35-90 for Mapsource Topo (ebay)
$130-$300+ for Garnin GPS, depending on model (ebay)
