What is the best Mexico route from Yuma to San Felipe.

What say you OSO. I am leaving from Tucson.

Keep on going down 95 to San Luis, cross, go 3 blocks straight, hang a left, 2 more blocks then right (before you get to the plaza/Cathedral etc., keep going South till you get to a y- there will be a sign saying "El Golfo de Sta. Clara", veer right, stay on Mex 40 till Luis B. Sanchez, turn right, (if you get to Riito, you've gone too far). Turn right in Luis B. Sanchez just past the RR hump, stay on Mex 4 till it "T"s with Mex 5. Don't try to turn left there, you can't. You have to turn right, go north toward Mexicali about 50 yds and there will be a turnaround to go back south. Stay on Mex 5 and you're there.

Of course, if you're leaving from Tucson, you don't really have to go through Yuma at all. You can cross at Sonoita and follow Mex 2 along the border to SLRC and left on Mex 40. It's 2-lane, but shorter and not anywhere as scary as Mex 1 past El Rosario.

Thanks

Over the years I have crossed at Tecate or Mexicali. Tecate in the summaer, Mexicali in the winter. This time of year I will be going via Gonzaga (much more peaceful route) and wanted to try something new. Thanks
