Please take notice that 4 of the Caged Dolphins have been removed from La Paz.
I strongly recommend that all of us talk to people that we know and direct them to places like Loreto where they can hire a Panga to go out and see
Dolphins without trying to ride those caged creatures in La Pas and other places.
We can all be kind and respectful.
This Post is not Political or meant to solicit political comments it is mean to make us all aware that there are other ways to view Nature ,Try to

I agree 100% Skeet. There is no justification for caging any animal. Heven't been able to stomach zoos since I was a kid.

We should all take a good look at the way we treat "for food animals" also.

The only thing I've ever caged was my little parakeet, and the door was open 100% of the time so he could free-fly around the house. He simply
'chose' to sleep in there at night and eat his meals in there. And, no one should ever attempt to ride a dolphin, even in their natural habitat.

but if the dolphin wants to play with you and interact in it's natural habitat then why not?

First, and most importantly, Skeet, there are now only three dolphins as another one died yesterday, making the news that they will be moved all the
more bittersweet.
Second, I think the decision has been made to move the dolphins, but they have yet to BE moved. Knowing how long things can take in Mexico, it could
still be a life and death situation for the remaining animals. But I'm glad to hear that you have some feelings about the issue. Not many people on
this board said anything about it at all, so I figured there was little sympathy for what was going on.
The Gringo Gazette just gave the owners another pass the other day by repeating once again the lie that they haven't been charging admission and
saying that Capuccino, the one that just died, was back to good health.....just to give embarrassment where embarrassment is due.
Having said that, I'm happy that this part of their sad existence seems to be coming to an end, although if they are in terrible shape, they may not
even survive the trip to the new facility in Puerto Vallarta.
Let's just hope some lessons have been learned. Thanks to anyone who did protest this horror. It IS political and without people who participate
politically, the remaining animals would simply await the next event that would kill them at the Delfinario.

Steph. The Dolphins in La Pass are History and a bucket of words could be said for the fault and demise of these beautifull creatures;
When I first came on to the old Amigos Board I told of my feeding and touching the Dolphins on the Pacific sie of Baja. I only agreed to give out the
location to anyone who wanted it if they would give me enough information that I could Id them in the future if they did any Harm to "My Dolphins" on
the Pacfic, I never had any takers.
It is too late for the present Generation of "Takers" we must teach our young children to take charge and become good citizens of this Great Country.
I am in the process of building a Pond on my property because I would like to bring in the Canada Geese and have them nest as well as the Great White
owl which is living in a Palm Tree in my front yard;
Here is the kicker,when I went to the Wildlife Conservation office to get some help and information I had to read and sign 7 pages of Do's and Don'ts.
I Was told that if I had a horse and he chit in the Pond that it would kill all the fish and I would be fined!So I declined the help and will do it
myself under my rules of "Common Sense"Skeet/Loreto

Certainly werent no driven to Timbabichi this last trip ! although I did run into a lake that isn't on any maps. Freshwater Langostino 18" long.
Damn, biggest Crawdad I ever did see.

Three of those dolphins are still alive, so they do still merit our attention. But the greater attention needs to be given to the tuna trawlers that
kill thousands of these beautiful animals every year just in Mexico alone. It's not the tourists or ex pats that you know who are of great danger to
your Pacific Dolphins. It's the pros. If you still eat tuna, you unwittingly contribute to their demise yourself. Your love for those animals is
best served by getting political in their defense. Unless we all speak out about what we will and will not tolerate, we give the green light to those
who will, for profit, abuse our trust.
Good luck with that pond. Creating a riparian area from scratch sounds like a really fun project and I'm sure you will do a good job of it without
big brother looking over your shoulder.
I live right in the middle of the city. Pure concrete and asphalt all around, but I also have an owl living in the eucalyptus tree next door. Some
big-assed Harris Hawks too. It's always amazing to see how many species have adapted to life in the concrete jungle.
