My Human Anatomy and Physiology Prof. at Arizona Western College in the 60's was an entomologist at heart and a beetle guy by passion. I can't recall
his name at the moment. He used crutches as a result of what I remember as a teen-aged dumb stunt involving riding on the hood of a car at speed on
the beach at San Filipe. He was somewhat ledgendary at AWC for having been asked to identify a beetle, to which he responded, this one is called
"delicious", and he promptly ate it in front of the class. I'm sure I remember him telling me the story of the Rain Beetle, and displaying a box of
dozens of examples. On the other hand, I can't remember what I did yesterday!!
That beetle looks like------------

the one I salvaged off the surface of my swimming pool this morning. It was very grateful, but cold.

The one in the top picture looks like it could eat Cessnas.
