The Canal didn't pay off, but we met an old Cape Cod die hard who took us in hand. He said "for years, I have always caught my first bass of the new
season by casting tins at Pompanessett Beach. He also said the spot only produced small bass. He had to return to work, being firefighters, we did
not.......That evening we waded out on a sandbar and casted tins. Sure enough, small fish. As the sun started to set we began casting Jr. Atoms and
Atom 40's, the fish were now in the twenty to thirty pound class...Cape Cod would become our new fishing grounds. For some reason, ayear would pass us
by without returning to the "Cape". We would be back, it was inevitable.....to be continued.............
