I was thinking of posting this in "trip reports" but a tour of the Mexicali suburbs doesn't really fit in well with the heroic tales there. 
Going south through Mexicali (east crossing) at the weekend, I noticed a few changes. The usual route south was right out of the crossing, then left
at the first stop sign onto Morin. Well, watch out anybody who follows those instructions - there's a new stop sign a few hundred yards from the
border, which is taking a lot of people by surprise (squeals of brakes...).
Once left on Morin (at the now second stop sign), there's a load of new building at the first major junction (Cetys), before Burger King. On the
right before Cetys, there's a brand-new Walmart (the second one in Mexicali?), just opened, plus, coming very soon by the looks of it, an Office
Depot, and (I can't understand why anybody would think these are worth exporting) a Peter Piper Pizza.
Makes it hard to tell where the border is.
