Can you spot the common loons?

For all the Baja birding enthusiasts,

This was posted today on http://www.BajaBirding.org :

Sounds like a great project. I've seen brown pelicans and frigate birds in Baja with number bands, but never any color banded birds. :bounce:

post on the Nomad Off-Topic board? (Snicker)

Sorry, I couldn't resist after reading one of the other current topics above.

Love birds, including loons.

What a cool project! As the GPS technology gets better, we'll be able to put the tracking devices on smaller and smaller animals! Some of the pelagic birds have huge migrations, amazing stuff. Thanks for posting. I heard loons calling several mornings while I was in Baja. Didn't see them though, just heard the distinctive call.

These are loons and those are loonies.

Loony
adjective:
(1) So senseless as to be laughable.
(2) Afflicted with or exhibiting irrationality and mental unsoundness.

noun:
A person regarded as strange, eccentric, or crazy.

Yep, that's our off-topic, all right.

Oso, the question was regarding common loons. The ones you refer to are most UNcommon.
