Thank you, Baja Nomads

I recently returned from my first camping trip to Baja in over 40 years. I'm still digesting the experiences to write about, but I want to thank all the contributors to this board whose offerings helped me make the most of my time. I did not step on any sting rays at Agua Dulce because I knew the "shuffle," I had a pretty good idea what to bring because of "The List," and I ate "Taquitos de Monterey" even after I discovered that they were of manta ray, not Monterey style taquitos. Probably the best part was using my woefully inadequate Spanish and discovering that it works because the listeners wanted to hear what I had to say...and vice versa. I'll elaborate as time permits on what I found special; this is just a thank you for guiding me in the right directions. I'm definitely going to do this again! :bounce: Zoe

Yeah baby, yeah..... Sounds like you had the kind of trip that feeds the heart and soul. And how cool that you were able to use information from this board. I have found most of the people on this board to be a valuable source of information, as well as an inspiration for seeing new places and taking new roads. I look forward to hearing more about your trip. Post some pics if you have any.

Glad you had a good trip Zoe, this board is helpful. I've researched a lot of info here over the years. My trip was pretty good too, we'll have to swap some stories.

I assume that you, two, will swap these stories with the rest of us.:smug:

Yes, speaking for me...I'll post here

and Zac reminds me that we were at Agua Verde doing the shuffle, not Agua Dulce (that was earlier). It was all 100% wonderful, and I came home knowing that my next car will be one I can drive in Baja. (I already have an old Toyota that could do the dirt roads...but no 4 wheel capabilitiies).

Interesting your comments about your vehicles and Baja. Had a lady friend in our camp who came down in a New Caddy right after her husband passed away. The next trip she showed up in a Red Dodge Durango with four wheel drive--When I asked why, she relied--"Sister and I came down here to explore Baja and meet its people." Went on to say that the Caddy was a barrier to communicating with people--that is when I knew she would fit in very nicely.
Glad you had a great trip.

All right!!! The 'payback' for getting travel ideas from here is to write us your trip reports! Many thanks for taking the time... and I look forward to reading the rest of your story!

I was kinda looking forward to details on your 'Agua Dulce' anti sting ray shuffle! (just kidding)

Here is a photo at Agua Dulce taken last July, after the El Rosario Baja Cultural Festival
