When I was there on Dec 29th-30th, the road to La Gringa was under LOTS of contruction with several crews working on different sections with heavy
equipment.

I was wondering about those. Are they really rest stops? I guess they work, I used one for a lunch break. They were not there in March when I was last in Bahia.David K - 1-19-2006 at 09:02 AM
Here is one of the paved pulloffs on the L.A. Bay road, last October... At least that is something usefull... instead of a million signs announcing

Yes, road crew was working on the road to Playa San Rafael over Christmas (05). The work stops shortly south of PSR. The road from BoLA to PSR is in
great condition. They are laying down new concrete pads in many of the vados. I kept laughing, though, wondering how long until erosion would make
the vados useless.
By the way, road south of PSR to SF pretty torn up and washed out.
They were not there in March when I was last in Bahia.
