The current state of the land grab !
As of a week ago the entire beach in front of the town of
La Ribera is now fenced off, 4 wire sheep tight. The Ejiedo
has completed their deals with the developers?? and now
have pockets full of loot. I only at this time, have good faith
rumors to pass on, to you that have interest. Marina, Destination Hotel, Golf course, CONDOMNimums, ETC.
Sad I think, but more sad to the local folks who love having
the access to the beach for several klicks taken away. We
now have ONE beach access to the beach, maybe 12 ft wide
For all the Pangeros, beach goers, local folks with boats,
Greed and Prosperity has arrived here, and I think it's here to
stay.
I have been one of the local residential builders for quite a long while, so I bear a certain amount of guilt for the change in this area, My wife,
myself, and my kids are Mexican citizens
we do reap a certain amount of reward from growth, but we
are selfish enough, I guess, to not want Cabo San Lucas, in our face. But it is coming, much faster that we ever realised.
I'm surprised that Osprey has not put his thoughts to this and written something here? Maybe because he turns words
much better than I, and is still formulating his thoughts and ideas.

Every inch of Mexican sand is being gobbled up now as the world discovers the wonders that surround us. In our little village we could have almost
welcomed the news of a hotel or even some condos but there's "the marina". That changes everything forever for all the people in the village. You've
been in the village longer than me but you know what the wind and waves do to that area designated for marina development and you also know our little
village was once nearer that shoreline location (the government forcefully moved the whole town up to higher ground and out of harms way). They will
probably win and lose, gain and fail and finally put in the marina and hotel. The wind and sea will one day take it all back, just like we figured
and the only sadness is we are trapped in time, between the Mexican equivalent of the sap and bark, stuck here as unholy, tearful "testigos". More
when I learn more.
