David K - 3-22-2006 at 07:29 PM

Hola amigos, a week ago we were talking about the snow in Southern California that just fell a week ago Saturday...

The next day, Baja Angel, my son Chris, and I four wheeled up the dirt Nate Harrison Grade to the top of Palomar Mountain (5,000'+) here in San Diego County...

Anyway, just a look at one of the rare times we get a foot of snow in our back yard of San Diego... Hope you enjoy your back yard winter and spring wonderland!

David,

Next Saturday, our group will encounter the 'white stuff' traveling up the Summit Grade out of Canyon Alamito.
I'll be sure to take lots of pics of our Pole Line snowball fight! :P

Plenty of snow in North Idaho, but it's starting to melt. Saw a robin yesterday. Spring has arriving in the high country.

jimgrms - 3-23-2006 at 08:25 AM

Great views of one of my favorite stretches of road, DK. I see the name has been politically-correctisized--when we lived in Escondido, it was "****** Nate's Grade."

David K - 3-23-2006 at 04:33 PM

Hmmm... I lived in/near Escondido from 1970 to 1994 and I never heard THAT!!! It was always Nate Harrison... and he was a black pioneer who lived on Palomar in the late 1800's (I think).

Anyway... back to Baja!

Possibly David doesn't know this because this was during the 50's... Bob H

David how do I get a hat like your got Baja hat?

David K - 3-28-2006 at 07:48 AM

Buenos Dias Bruce!

I got a couple of u2u's asking the same question!

I think I need to make 'got baja?' hats and shirts and go into business... might pay for all the free 'got baja?' sticker postage!

Until I do, there is a keosk in the local mall (Carlsbad) that will put anything onto a hat... uses a computer sewing machine. Hat with 'got baja?' is about $20.

In 2001, Amo Pescar had a pair of Viva Baja hats made for us... as we were going to start a tour business... 9-11 changed those plans.

Bruce R Leech - 3-28-2006 at 07:58 AM

when you do I will be happy to sell them for you here in Mulege.

sylens - 3-28-2006 at 04:59 PM

you may want to consider having those hats (and tshirts and patches or whatever) made here in ensenada. support the local economy and pay far less...:tumble:

i know a great place on reforma...they too use computerized embroidery. they can create any graphic you can imagine.
:bounce:
think about it and let me know...

David K - 3-28-2006 at 06:12 PM
