Tecate/SCORE San Felipe 250

Hola mis amigos! Went down to Baja to watch the Tecate/SCORE San Felipe 250. I took some pictures and I hope you enjoy them.
First stop is Tech Inspection on the Malecon in San Felipe. I'm in the bottome right corner looking at the camera and behind me, on the street, is where vehicles are inspected to make sure they follow the rules.

Riviera sponsored truck:

Team Hummer:

Next day was race day. This is the "Percebu" road we took out to see the racers come by.

Because there are so many different classes of vehicles and so many racers in general, the starting times are staggered. Firs the bikes go, then quads, then buggies, then trucks. We'll start off with some bikes:

Next came the baby carriages.. err uh I mean quads:

Now it starts getting exciting. Bigger vehicles = bigger fun. Plus I was drunk at this point already. Anyway, here are some buggies.

This is what I came down here for. The trucks. It's so awesome to stand 5 feet from the course and have these guys pass you over the some of the roughest terrain you could imagine. Where I took these pics, it was pretty mellow but these guys haul some serious ass over the roughest stuff you ever seen. You can smell the race fuel and feel the engine as they pass you. AWESOME.

Apparently, this guy doesn't like Terrible Herbst.

And I made a couple of Gifs.

A couple of teams set up pits right by where we were. This guy is refueling getting some new tires. Here is the series of pics:

Other Pits:

This guy almost went up like a roman candle. He was refueling a truck and it apparently didnt want any more gas. As the guy was removing the connection, he was sprayed with several gallons of 110 Octane go-go juice. While his teammates stood around, the guy was running around blind. In the first pic you can see the gas spraying out towards his head. Oh and the exhaust is only a couple feet from him. BOOM.

Here he is getting water for his eyes and what not.

After an awesome day at the races, it was time for some delicious mexican food. This was at Isabels.

Then back to home sweet home:

My dad, he must be related to that crazy Winchester lady, is building this house. It's been in construction for over 10 years. He has built EVERYTHING himself.

Next day, we drove south and went fishing in Puertecitos. On the way down the coast:

Here I am slaying the pescados. The first one is some kind of perch I think. The second is a puffer.

Down at the fishin' hole, we met up with some biker guys.

They invited us back to their place for some drinks. Here is their place:

I told them to say "Hi" to the internet:

We ended up polishing off a bottle of JD.

When we got back to my place, I cleaned the fish I caught and fried them up.

And that's the end of my Mexico journey.

Nice photos. Got some myself but not by choice. Left Tucson for Abreojos Sat morning.

Int 8 closed for snow west of El Centro. Back tracked to Mexicali.

Got to the traffic in San Felipe. My son was excited watching the race finishing line.

Got Worse. Tried to buck the racers south of San Felipe on the hiway and received a lot of rock chips in exchange.

My son was the happy one as he took lots of pictures out the window. I was looking to dodge the cars, motos, quads etc and get passed the entry point to the hiiway.

Photos can't compare to "stevodadevo "s But it was fun for anyway.

Oh well. wasn't my first experience with a race. won't be my last. Made it to Gonzaga for the night and Abereojos by noon.
Then relaxed....
