capitolkat - 6-13-2006 at 05:53 AM

Having drunk Martini's for going on 35 years- there is one Martini and many copycats. Like Dave said the only difference in a real Martini is the proportions of the mix. Winston Chruchill defined a dry Martini as dry gin shaken vigorously and then looking across the room at the Vermoth.:lol:

Most of my adult life I've been a scotch & rocks kinda guy. Never really got into margaritas, always preferred straight tequila shooters. But, recently the doc has, as Justin Wilson would say, "put the prohibits on me". I haven't quit entirely but have been looking for ways to go a bit easier on what's left of my liver.

Today I decided to try and invent something very light, refreshing for sitting on the deck in 107 degrees , and inexpensive as well. I say I invented it because I've never heard of anyone doing it before, but I could be wrong. Anyway if this is a first and it catches on, I want credit for it and this post will serve as my "patent".

I call it a "Sang Sang" and it's very simple:

1 part cheap Sangria wine
1 part Sangria Se?orial soda
Twist of lime

Serve over ice.

Try it and let me know what you think...

Oso that sounds good! Don't drink but Diane does. Maybe we can try some at Skeet's party Thursday. I'm a CLight drinker myself. The guanabana reminds me of white nectarines.

Capitalkat, I sent you a u2u

Move inside to the air conditioned house. There is NOTHING refreshing in 107 degrees. Aside from that - it doesn't sound like you. I'm guessing that drink is sweet, and from someone who claims Maker's Mark is sweet ...

My suggestion would be to cut down, but stick to what you like. You know how it works, right? A glass of wine, a beer, a mixed drink - it's all the same in terms of alcohol intake.

Yeah, I know it doesn't sound like me, but it's nice for a change and the twist keeps it from being TOO sweet. I know the principle, but volume seems to make a little difference. Wish I could get pulque here...

capt. mike - 6-14-2006 at 06:26 AM

bancoduo....that would explain your picture!!:lol::lol::lol::wow:
