boating around Mulege

I'm beginning to prepare for spending the winter months at one of the beaches at Bahia Concepcion. (Posada Concepcion). I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time fishing and boating. I am considering purchasing an 18ft center console seasquirt with an 85 horespower outboard and 10 horesepower kicker. My thoughts are that it would work ok within the bay, but is it to small to venture out into the Sea of Cortez? What your thoughts?

if you are intent on fishing EARLY. Winds tend to come up late morning, if they are going to come up that day. However, launching at Posada and the tides may dictate your departure more than your alarm clock.

I'd say the Islas Santa Ines and the outside of the Concepcion "thumb" will be your main haunts. I think you will quickly grow tired of fishing inside the bahia itself.
