I'm heading to cabo next weekend. Does anyone know of any deals going on at cabo del sol, eldorado, cabo real, etc.??

Brian,
Sorry to tell you this, but there is absolutely no deals on golf in Cabo. Del sol, is totally corporate now and you will be looking at spending $200-300. El Dorado is private now as well. Your best bet is either Cabo Real or Palmilla. Both will be around $175-200 to play, even this time of year..

makes the Baja Country Club in Ensenada look good at $42.00

Thanks guys, but i did check a little more and actually found that cabo del sol desert course has $95.00 after 10:30am!! I can live with that! Also, cabo real at $135.00. Thanks again, this forum is great.

Brian, FYI, I believe the desert course is getting work done on it. I would ask before you commit to that. they have a no cancelation policy. I would say Real, might be your better deal..

They said that the ocean course was closed.....I guess I'll just bring the sticks and see what I can work out. At least it's a little easier getting a better rate in cabo than Maui, where you go to Kapalua, nobody's on the course and they still say "it's $250.00 for the plantation course..play it or beat it "!! lol

Thanks

i just played the ocean course and it was a little beat up. maybe they are doing some work on it. also, i heard that they were having water problems at a few of the courses and they fairways went dorment. when I played a couple of weeks ago, they had just gotten a big rain storm, so they came back a little..
There is cabo country club as well, close to down town, so check that out. personally, I like Palmilla..

I"ve really been surfing since yesterday and I saw one website that had palmilla at $135.00! I've never played there so thanks for the tip, I'll put that on the list!

There is also the municipal course in San Jose. Since Mayan Resorts took it over, I understand that it is a nice course. Not a golfer but that is what I have heard.

Judy,
I belive that is a 9 hole course. i played it about 10 years ago and from what I remember it was "muni course". Not as nice as the others mentioned, but definitely fun to play but a little more casual and not as many views. I guess that is why yo pay more up the road..

Wow, it's getting better and better....cabo country club..$79.00 after 10:30am!!

bajajudy - 8-27-2006 at 03:24 PM

Yep 9 holes. Still supposed to be nice with the make over. And I am sure the price is right. There is also a new restaurant there that is supposed to be great....Thadusa....or something like that

I drove by the San Jose Mayan course several times this last week. It is better than it was but still a little rough in my opinion. It is a 9 hole muni style course. I think serious golfers will find it boring.

In my opinion, the best (challenging/scenic) courses are Cabo del Sol (ocean course), El Dorado, Palmilla, and Querencia. Other opinions will differ.

I visited the Cabo del Sol courses a week ago. Didn't play but the courses looked to be in pretty good shape to me.

The Sunday buffet at the Cabo del Sol clubhouse is a can't miss. $30 USD buys you all you can eat lobster, scallop ka bobs, peel and eat jumbo shrimp, grilled fish of the day, cerviche, cioppino, prime rib, all the mexican specialties, too many salads to count, fresh fruits, endless champagne (Andre), about 12 different deserts, and made to order Haagen Dazs sundies. Two piece jazz combo (los Hermanos Suaves) on the side - Bossa Nova, black jazz, etc. and oh my gosh! Dick Dale's classic Pipeline in jazz!

$30 is my meal budget for a week in Mexico, but after eating there you won't need to eat for a week!

Take someone special with you and enjoy the ambiance.

Check out Club Campestre in Baja... I know they are offering alot of good deals right now. Especially since the resort just opened up right next to them. I can get pricing for you if you want.. I just golfed there a few weeks ago.
