Did we make a mistake?
Yikes! 2 wks ago we purchased a soon-to-be completed (please God!) condo at Mar Y Sol north of Rosarito Beach. Same developer built Las Olas and is
building Las Olas Grand. Thought I did all the due diligence re: fidiecomiso, title insurance, etc., but now reading all these posts, I'm wondering
lots of things: 1) if tourists stop going to Baja and buying in Baja, will the project be completed or will developer run out of funds because places
stop selling? 2) will we be safe spending time at this new vacation home? We're planning to go down for four days next month to Rosarito and wondering
if we should reconsider. We live in San Diego and there is crime here, too, but I never feel "targeted" per se. The area where this development is
going up has a beautiful, wide sandy beach. I wonder if we'll be safe to walk on it? I wonder if we should bail out now and lose our 30% down rather
than lose the entire 100% when (if?) project is completed....

Very good questions; only time will tell......
Things have been worse and will hopefully get better again.
I wouldn't be afraid to go down, just travel during the day, stay within site of some other gringo vehicles on the road (or caravan) and use common
sense.

I could not agree more.

Good advise from diver, and remember this board is only a very small percentage of the people who travel to Baja every day, and most of the people are
not informed of these happenings and most will never know. And most likely nothing will ever happen to them. Maybe too much info is not a good
thing, it sure brings out the fear that so0me people will not travel to the Baja and they will be missing out on a lot. I think a year from now we
will look back and say remember when, just history.

Things will get worse, but eventually things will settle down, if i was investing in Rosarito or i was planning to move there, i wouldn't change my
plans.
