Los Cabos MLS and AMPI raising $$ For Mulege

cabobaja - 9-20-2006 at 01:29 PM

The Los Cabos MLS and AMPI have a goal to raise $150,000US for Hurrican John relief for residents of the East Cape in Los Cabos and Mulege.

The money is being donated by the broker's and agent's of the Los Cabos MLS and AMPI.

As Mulege suffered the most destruction the largest percentage of funds will go for Mulege relief.

You can check the progress of donations on:

My apologies: The topic for this posting should have been:

Los Cabos MLS and AMPI raising $$ for Mulege and the East Cape of Los Cabos.

I take that to mean the money is going to Gringo's?

Comitan....WHY would you take it to mean that? Did you mean would the money be available to help gringos, as well as Mexicans? :?:

comitan - 9-20-2006 at 04:11 PM

I will let cabobaja answer that, when it specifies East Cape and Mulege I see Gringo's.

Baja Bernie - 9-20-2006 at 04:19 PM

Now it is really getting silly the guy and his group are trying to help people and I am sure that there are needy folks that are light skinned and others that are a little darker--should it matter.

Yeah! I know he is the same guy who tried to take me on the other day.--So what if his group wishes to help, as JR would say, HUMANS.

comitan - 9-20-2006 at 05:18 PM

Since you bring up JR I think it is a question that he would ask, since he was always looking out for the poor Mexicans, so I don't understand the antagonism in the previous posts.

longlegsinlapaz - 9-20-2006 at 05:32 PM

Comitan:

There was NO antagonism intended in MY post...simply a question...I read & reread that post & couldn't figure out what in the original post prompted you to ask that. NOW I understand why you posed the question.

cabobaja - 9-20-2006 at 05:44 PM

Before I posted this.... I had reservations that there would be negative response from some that just do not get it, or have a negative agenda.

The money will go to those who are needy. They might be white, brown, yellow or red......but thank God that there are people that care and are donating $50, $100, $1000. There has been one $5000 and two $3000
donations and there will be more to come. Some of these donors have never been to Mulege.....but in the future I will bet they will visit if given the chance.

Bernie, again...go write another book and please make positive!!

comitan - 9-20-2006 at 05:52 PM

Cabobaja

Thank you for the clarification, I'm sure the money will go to a good cause, and my personal thanks to the donors.

cabobaja - 9-20-2006 at 05:54 PM

Thank you Comitan!

Quote by you--"Bernie, again...go write another book and please make positive!!"

I ask you why you insist on making this statement when you obviously did not read my post--whick supported you group--and you have never read any of my books OR you could not have made that statement.

cabobaja - 9-20-2006 at 06:44 PM

Bernie,

Ok, let us end this here. I am sure you are a good guy. But to post that "now it is really getting silly the guy and his group are trying to help people" does not show any respect.

I wish you well. You have heard the last from me. Hope you sell alot of books!

Cabobaja,

On behalf of humans in East Cape, and Mulege (of which I am one).......Thank you! And thank You to your donors, too.

cabobaja - 9-21-2006 at 11:13 AM

Your welcome toneart!

We are hoping for a very successful $$ drive.

EngineerMike - 9-21-2006 at 11:16 AM

As a human who spends part of the year in Mulege, thanks for the help. There are many who need it, including a very small minority of gringos as to personal needs, perhaps 200 Mexican families who were flooded out, and the entire community as to mosquito abatement and road repairs (there's a 100 meter stretch of the recently repaired river road by the now defunct agua pura station that is missing and needs to be fixed).

There will be ongoing problems in Mulege for years as a result of John. But the outpouring of support has been a real heart grabber.

cabobaja - 9-21-2006 at 12:36 PM

EngineerMike:

Thanks for your post. I am sure that once the funds are distributed they will
help alot of people, both Mexican and Gringo's.

I have spent alot of time in Mulege over the years and have many, many great memories!
