Something I noticed a couple of weeks ago: The road north of San Quintin for about 50-75 miles has what looks like an actual emergency lane (small!)
for bikes or pedestrians. It actually is about a 1" to 2" drop from the main pavement and tends to "grab" your right-hand wheels, making it a little
hairy to get all the way back on the smooth pavement without over-correcting.
Just a warning to all you big rigs out there.
