Gas in backpack

How dangerous would it be to carry a gallon of gas in a backpack while driving my motorcycle? We will be making a day run to Gonzaga from San Felipe. I may need the extra gas to make it there. Any suggestions..... Thanks Paul.

Paul if you have to carry gas I found the best way is use two anri-freeze bottles. One on each side.
Use the bottles evenly as to keep them feeling balnced and use them as soon as possible as your tank emptys.
Keep the bottles as they may be needed on the way back.
Or even to get a gallon or two from a passing vehicle. Get a bigger tank for your bike. 100miles plus for Baja.
Look into a number plate type fuel container. Good luck, Corky   The reason I say a container on each side is if you do a little get off you would only damage one. Also if one leaks on one side or the other it is alot easier to flush with water the outside iof your leg than if in a back pack and a leak occurs. The gas would effect a more sencitive (sp) location. Hope you get what I mean.
