Driving time La Paz to San Ignacio + camping Mulege/Conception area questions

sjsailor - 1-28-2007 at 05:23 PM

Hi,
We are coming into La Paz for a week of whale watching and then Sea of Cortez relaxation and beauty in Feb.
Is is practical to schedule La Paz to San Ignacio in one day of driving (rented Jeep)?

Also, we are considering camping in the Mulege/Bahia Concepcion area. 2 adults, used to outdoor "primitive".
Is it safe? are some areas better than others for beach camping w/o crowds?

Thanks for responding to these questions which are probably asked a lot!

La Paz to San Ignacio is close to 7 hours of driving and can be done in one day.
Camping in Bahia Conception is usually safe, espcially if you camp in one of the frequented areas like Playa Naranga or El Requeson etc...

Why not consider a shorter trip to see the whales by going to Puerto Lopex Mateo which is just north of Cuidad Constitution and Cuidad Insurgentes ?
