Rosarito or Rosarito

Are there 2 towns called Rosarito...both spelled the same?? I'm trying to copy some of the interesting details to take with us for reference and noted Rosarito just before Guerrero Negro and then one close to the border. Where's the sandwich shop?? I'm so confused!!

Actually Marie, there are a number of Rosaritos. The one near G.Negro is Nuevo Rosarito and theres not much there besides gas and some small stores. There is another Rosarito between Mulege and Loreto and there is nothing there. There used to be a palapa with some pretty good ceviche tostadas but it is gone. This Rosarito is also the entrance to the road to La Purisima from the east.
For information on Playas de Rosarito, the one you are probably interested in, look under Rosarito Beach or Playas de Rosarito. Or, anything I can help you with. And I am sure Dave will chime in to any questions too. He is a resident and also makes the best, and possibly only real Pastrami sandwiches south of the border.:bounce:

Just to make sure I've got this right...sandwich shop mentioned on another thread is Rosarito Beach...road to San Borja Mission is Rosarito close to G. Negro...and not much in that town...

You've got it! Rosarito is just too pretty a name to restrict to one town.

Correct

And absolutely no pastrami. I asked everywhere.

Is not in Rosarito Beach, but a few miles south just past the entrance to Puerto Nuevo (Lobster Village). Thought I would jump in here as Dave hasn't been on the board.

I did not see any gasoline sales in (Nuevo) Rosarito, west of San Borja...
