drive to punta candelero

The wind was blowing here in bola so another exploration drive was in order. I drove across valle agua amarga, through the mountain pass down to valle laguna seca. I could have turned east and drove down mesa de yubay wash that would have taken me to bahia guadalupe but I had made that trip in the past. So I took off north east and drove across valle laguna seca which was awash with purple, white and yellow flowers all in bloom. The air smelled sweet with there fragrances. After crossing laguna seca I headed east through the canyons for punta candelero. This was a very scenic drive with the canyons providing fantastic rock formations with numerous different soil colors. Once I reached the water I did some beach combing and then headed back. The drive through the canyons to punta candelero was much more scenic than the drive to bahia guadalupe down mesa de yubay wash. Yes 4 wheel drive is mandatory if you should attempt these drives and make sure you are supplied with days of food and water as it is a long walk back to bola if you should break down. The scenery and the solitude make the trips well worth it. Fishin rich

That is a beautiful canyon (Arroyo los Candeleros) that beats California's Painted Gorge for colors. Here are two photos from the end of the road, near Punta Candelero http://davidksbaja.com/1202
