Guided fishing or Panga Rental San Nicolas

For those who may not be aware. Chuey Bastida in San Nicolas will take you out and put you onto the fish in Bahia San Nicolas , or if you wanted to be on your own, he has a nice panga and outboard that you can rent. His brother is still renting a palapa on the playa, but it is often occupied, and there is no way to make reservations. For camping in the arroyo, you might stop and talk to Fernando Murillo in the first house on the right at the bottom of the hill going into the arroyo. It is totally unimproved, but generally better than trying to sleep on any of the beaches these days.

It is 65 miles to the nearest gas pump from San Nicolas, you may find that gasoline is more valuable than pesos for a lot of transactions with pangeros in the village. Tell Chuey that Perry from Hueros huerta sent you!

vgbndo: What do you mean by "generaly better than sleeping on the beaches these days"? I was thinking of doing just that later this Spring.
Thanks

Santiago:

It used to be a lot quieter. La Playa is a lot busier these days. Terry's palapa is occupied a lot, and the army cruises the beach. You could probably still do fine in one of the arroyos north or south though.

Could be too that you can handle a lot more quads n dogs n federales. I'm spoiled.

Santigo: If you have a Four wheel you can drive South East and get very close to Pulpito, go over the rise and you will drop right into a small Sandy Beach which faces to the SouthEast, Maybe be able to have some Peace and Quite!
Take care of "Chico" he is getting Old!
