Big Waves on West Facing Beaches

Gypsy Jan - 2-25-2008 at 06:19 PM

In Rosarito.

Yesterday, Sunday, under partly cloudy skies, the sea was glassy with dolphins and pelicans feeding happily offshore.

Right now, at 5 pm, the skies are clear blue, the winds are steady at 21 mph with gusts above 30 mph. The gulls don't have to flap to get lift.

The waves are coming in on steady sets, twenty-five to thirty feet apart and looking six-to-twelve feet high.

Full Disclosure: this report is only one non-surfer's observations, no expertise or certifications are expressed or implied.
