Route from Mex 3 to La Rumorosa?

It's been 20+ years since we've been this way. Page N-7 of Baja Almanac Norte makes the route look a bit more complicated than I remember. Is it pretty straight-forward? Thanks, John

It does get a little complicated. From hwy 3 north there are two main routes and multiple sub-routes. From hwy 3 at about KM50 there is a sign for Laguna Hanson. Turn north and follow the most traveled road. After a couple of miles you'll come to another sign for Laguna Hanson to turn right onto another joining road from Ojos Negros. This is a well traveled road to Laguna Hanson past Saw Mill etc. Again follow the most traveled road past Laguna Hanson north to La Rumorosa. About 10 miles from La Rumorosa there is another good road branching left to El Condor.

The other main route is to take the road from hwy 3 but when you get to the Laguna Hanson jct go left toward Ojos Negros. After passing El Coyote take a right up pass the Indian village. La Huerta on the map. This is what some call the Sand hwy or Buffalo rd or El Compadre trail. It goes by El Compadre and Santa Veronica to El Hongo and hwy 2.

The main thing is to stay on the best traveled road. If you have a GPS use it.
You might want to get the newer single volume Alamnac, it seems just a little more clear and the coloring is better.

Also be careful and alert because there are usually motorcycles on these roads, on the weekends especially.
