Los Vientos Resort in BOLA update

Santiago - 5-6-2004 at 08:44 AM

Last week we stopped in at the new resort, Los Vientos. It is 80% completed, one 4-plex is furnished and the others are close behind. The pool is filled with water and about an inch of sand, the palapas are in or nearly so and they are finishing the entry arch and doing some planting. The stucco/plaster is already falling off the plastic beading they used for the rounded corners. The reception area has a lot of work to complete. The caretaker/superintendent says that they have their first guests arriving next week - good luck with that. Those of you interested in solar power - check out the array of 36 batteries they've got set up - pretty cool. My guess is they've got a couple of months before they're ready for guests. We were quoted 'somewhere around $180 per night' as the rate. The road is 'paved' (already coming apart) to the turnoff to Raquel and Larry's.

the paved road will become worse then if they left it graded,it was a rough paved road from the beginning but it is degrading fast. good luck with that 180 bucks a night, you might as well fly to mainland for a week for that price.

I like how Doc described the "paved" road to La Gringa. They painted the sand black.
