Planning to drive down to Los Barriles for a few weeks vacation. With all the crime news coming from TJ, I'm starting to wonder if I should try to
caravan down.
- Want to pull out of Los Angeles around 3:30 or 4:00 and overnight in Chula Vista on 11 December
- Pull out of Chula Vista around 4:00 a.m.
- Stop / overnight in San Ignacio by 6:00 p.m. on 12 December
- Pull out of San Ignacio around 5:00 a.m.
- Arrive in Los Barriles by 7:00 p.m. on 13 December
Turn around and drive back on Jan 2nd...
I have significant auxiliary lighting on my my vehicle and will be towing a smaller AirStream trailer. Two drivers, so 500 miles a day should be
reasonable with fuel stops every 150ish miles.
Anyone interested in joining up for any part of this trip?

Travelling to LaVentana similar time.
Cross Tijuana 12-12 at dawn
Usually to Guerro Negro by late afternoon. Could go on to San Ignacio.
Leave pre-dawn to arrive LaVentana by 4:00 PM
Van - No Trailer - 500 mile range
Drive hard during the day.
Drive pre-dawn-not post sunset (been there done that not again).
Could link up for first part of trip - to El Rosario maybe? See if compatible?

Have done a similar trip many times only used Guerro Negro as the mid point. It can be done but two FULL days of driving.
Another vehicle traveling along is always a good idea for many diffrent reasons.
Have A Safe Trip.
