Anyone know of a campground in San Ignacio to spend a night? We are looking at pretty quick in and out. Arrive late leave early.

I love camping at Don Chongs which is right on the river...just enter at the whale skeleton and this campground is a block down on the left
side...pretty funky outhouses though. There is a new campground just over the bridge and on the right....with shade palapas I think...lots of choices.coloradoboardheads - 12-7-2008 at 10:20 AM

But don't leave so fast that you don't drive into town---it is one of the prettiest places in Baja, very much like the old small towns on the
mainland.

We also like El Padrino.
It's about 2/3 mile off the highway on the right.
There is a small restaurant bar in front and palm tree camping behind.
The owner is very nice and the showers are normally clean and hot.
Park where you want and pay in the restaurant.

You can park in the parking lot of rice and beans restaurant. They food is amazing, there are hookups and outlets to charge up, wireless internet and
you can have coffee and breakfast and go, depending on how many margaritas you had... I think you pay a small for the service. They have rooms too.

I will second the camoing available at El Padrino's. The place is directly across the stree from Ignacio In B&B. There are severaL palapas and you
camp right next to the river. The palce is about 1/2 mile off Mex 1. Also, do not skip going into town, as Diane suggested. AND you must vist
Juanita's place, Casa Leree. An incredible amount of history to be learned.
