THE UNFORGETTABLE SEA OF CORTEZ

I like to yak about fishing and take some photos now and then. so I've been one of many contributors to Gene Kira's Mexfish fishing reports and just got this book notice from him. I have the original in my bookcase and feel it will be of great interest to Baja-nostalgia fans, so I'd like to pass it along.

The book covers the golden age of Baja from 1947-1977 with Ray Cannon, a thoroughly enjoyable character..kinda like the P.T. Barnum of Baja. Here's the info:

"...........
.....I'm sending this message to all of my Mexico Fishing Reporters to let you know that my 1999 book, THE UNFORGETTABLE SEA OF CORTEZ, has just been reprinted in a very limited special edition.

This new printing has the same specifications as the original, 362 pages, hardcover, 400+ historic photos, and 197,000+ words of text.

This printing was made possible by Tracy and Marco Ehrenberg of Cabo San Lucas, and I'd like to express my gratitude to them for bringing to life once again the sportfishing history of Baja California and the magnificent photographs and articles of Ray Cannon.

A limited number of copies of The Unforgettable Sea of Cortez is now available for purchase online at Mexfish.com. Complete details may be found on this page:

Muchas gracias Tracy, Marco, Ray, Carla Laemmle, and all the pangueros and sportfishing captains of Baja..."

Ray Canon’s old Sunset book, The Sea of Cortez (1966, I believe), is a marvelous book. I’m sure Gene Kira’s remake does it justice.

Both books are fantastic----------well worth adding to any "Baja" collection.
