Got an e-mail today from the poor guy from Calgary that crashed his Kawasaki in March. Here are his words (with personal info edited out for obvious
reasons.) This should be the final comment on this whole deal:
"Nice to hear from you. I'm pretty much on the mend. Haven't ridden my KLR yet, but I've got the parts for replacement - gas tank, foot pegs, shrouds,
handlebars. I'd appreciate your pics, either email me..."
guess you are not as bad as I thought by reading some of the posts recently

His concern for your concern says it all. Too bad you had to go through so much mud for helping someone. Hang in there.

...for your original comments and relating your experiences about the entire 'biker accident' incident.
IMHO, your info about the ordeal is exactly what Baja Nomad's Board is all about. We all get some new info about Baja, and in this case, perhaps,
some incite into what goes on, when things go bad for a fellow Baja Traveler...all the added 'bull bleep' that flew around the edges of your related
experience, here on the Board, were recognized by us all, as exactly that...BS!
Thanks for hanging in there...if it had been me, I'd probably begin to think twice before I'd post another experience, knowing some half-wit would be
taking 'pot-shots' at me...but again, these pages tend to let the truth show through...good job, BajaRunner!

Just returned from a quick trip to Indiana and read all the nice comments.
Actually, I had gone over to Fred's board and made a few posts last week, just seemed nice to know that post could be made without mud being liberally
applied to your words.
Anyway, will spend less time here, but will still be hanging around. IF it stays peaceful...... who knows.
I did receive another e-mail from Calgary, closing line, "and thanks again for all of your assistance!" (Exc. point was his..)
Many wanted me to involve him in the debate on this board. I thought long and hard, finally decided that someone here would probably denounce him as
well, and he really did not need more crap in his life now, did he?
I have another very interesting story from that March trip that I would like to post. Trying to get up the fortitude to do so, while knowing someone
will make it out to be something it was not.
(by the way, while you all have received edited versions of the e-mails from Calgary I have forwarded them, intact, to Doug and to M, as well as my
Baja Boys, just for the record)

This whole bike thing started when I went to hotel COLON and met Edward...remember now that he had a truck with a motorcycle in the bed...and that was
the one involved in the crash...small world.......

Right you are, except that it ended with Edward, not started.
Baja Vida and I went to the El Rosario municipal offices to inquire as to the status of our crashed friend, a week after the event.
Before we could even ask, there sat the green bike in the back of Edward's truck.
Edward filled us in on the details and told us about his new cafe/motel down the street. (which a subsequent post indicates that he has turned over
to others.)
Anyway, it is just good to know that our friend is up and around and back to work.
In fact, he has a website for his child counseling practice, complete with his foto.
He looks a lot different on the web than he did sitting in the dirt on top of the mountain.
