Rene' Gaume Geraldo, the ex chief of State Police of Baja California Sur has been arrested during same investigation that brought in jail Arellano
Felix.
He was in charge of police in 1995 when a Caravel Airplane landed North of Todos Santos with 12 tons of cocaine. He helped coordinating and
transporting the drug till border with US.
Last year Rene' Gaume Geraldo succeded in escaping from a hospital clinic in La Paz thanks to his connection with local police and courts.
He is also accused of murdering of Edith Agundez, a young girl in Los Cabos.
Good that the Federales got him. He will rot in jail for many years to come and he will be a good warning for his friend in La Paz.

Edith Agundez was 25 yo when got murdered in Los Cabos in 1995.
She has generated many headlines on local newspaper during past years. I do not remember exactly the story (if she was a lover or something else
related) but the well-informed says that the ex-chief of police was the person that ordered her killed.

The woman that was murdered is my cuncuna's sister, (my brother-in-law's wife's sister). It was a tragedy for the family as she is still mourned and
discussed. She left behind a son (with grandparents) who is now about 18 years old. What I know is that she was the girlfriend of the mayor, and for
whatever reasons was stabbed to death in her house. My husband and his brother found the body when they went to get her at her house for something.
Her son was there at the time, so I'm sure he has some pretty horrible memories.
One of Edith's sisters just had a baby, and she was named Edith, so yes, her spirit is still very strong and carries on with the family in CSL.
I was living in Cabo that summer (I think it was 95), and the murder was discussed throughout the town. I didn't realize who the woman was until I
spent some time with my future brother-in-law's family that Christmas. H.

I was living in cabo when that plane landed with the drugs, i remember that a week or so before the plane landed, i saw in Cabo some Tijuana cops that
i recognized, i never tought anything of it until the plane landed, THEN their presence in cabo made a lor of sense.
