The govt. of Mexico secularized the California and Baja California missions in 1833. The last Dominican left La Frontera in 1849, but people continued to live at Rosario. We have discussed the myths of the lost Jesuit missions on this forum quite a bit, and the mythic missions did not exist.

Hola Antonio, below is the photo of the second site of Rosario (Rosario Abajo) that is on my web site for the missions in Baja: http://vivabaja.com/bajamissions
Most of the photos featured (including this one) are from Jack Swords who has INAH authority to photograph and GPS historic sites. Jack's photos are copyrighted. This one was taken about 3 years ago. For some information on the 'lost' or 'missing' missions, see http://community-2.webtv.net/Baja4Me/1757 As AA says, the lost missions do not exist... Well, except on one official Jesuit map... see the above link. :)
