Its not soy sauce, its ponzu sauce, and we dont use wasabi, the spiciness comes from the serrano slices.

I feel like one of Pavlov"s dogs! AARF! Tuna AARF Drool:P

Bajahowodd - 1-29-2010 at 12:45 PM

I don't think anyone ever answered greg's question. Jesse's place is called Restaurant Las Tres Virgenes. It's located a few blocks up from the malecon in La Paz.

I'm mention it to Jesse before. In my opinion, he has one of the finest and most eclectic appetizer menus I've ever seen. While I certainly wouldn't want to dissuade anyone from order any of the amazing entrees he serves, two or three appetizers along with a bottle of wine is like heaven.

tripledigitken - 1-29-2010 at 02:44 PM

Bravo Jesse! You're at the top of our list anytime we get below Loreto!

Cudos to your cousin for her excellent photo's!

Ken

I see the braised pork belly did'nt make the short list.;D

I read some study which said that a person can gain weight simply by looking at pictures of food and salivating. I just gained 15 lbs! That Damiana creme brulee put me over the top!

Thanks for the encouragement, Jesse. I can't wait to be there again.

OK....What happened to all the square plates we talked about a few years back? I never did like square plates. You never see square food [except at Wendy's I think it is].

irenemm - 1-29-2010 at 04:23 PM

After moving to the new location, i realized most restaurants in town switched to square plates as well. So we went back to traditional round just to keep it original.

David K - 1-29-2010 at 06:31 PM

Really nice Jesse... I wish we were closer to La Paz to get there more often! Baja Angel and I (with BajaCactus and Loernia) came to your Tijuana restaurant before you moved to La Paz... It was the one day you weren't there, but the food was fantastic! The waiter called you while we were there so we could say hi to you, remember?

Anyway, a trip to La Paz is sure in our hopes for next summer... and a visit (or two) to Tres Virgenes will be a highlight of the trip!

wessongroup - 1-29-2010 at 07:38 PM

Now I see why the Soup Nutzee .. looking good in more than one way.. super all the way.. great job:):)

Don't worry. I've dumped my beer, twice, into mine and it still works.

For the record. Traditionally, the wasabi should be on the side. Never mixed up in the soy sauce. The sushi is first dabbed on the wasabi, then dipped in the soy sauce before being eaten.

Sorry for being a wasabi N-zi... :p

Great looking food.

WOW Jesse.......... 3V... where in La Paz?
Bob H

oxxo - 2-3-2010 at 06:12 AM

In my opinion, 3V is the best restaurant in La Paz and probably in all of Baja. It is more than a restaurant, it is a dining experience! Every time I have been there, Jesse has been the consumate host.

Trip Advisor rates 3V as #5 in La Paz :o:fire: behind Tailhunter, La Tasca, ll Rustico, and Caffe Milano. Tailhunter Fubar is the best restaurant in La Paz?! Such a classy name. I don't get it.

This is why I think Trip Advisor is of almost no use. Yes, it is better than nothing but so is a corn cob when you need toilet paper.

bajalorena - 2-6-2010 at 11:24 AM

My sisters are visiting, and we went to La Paz for a night. I had the opportunity to take them to 3 V Thursday night. We each had something different from the menu ( there is so much to choose from), and everything was excellent. The staff made you feel right at home, and we also had the pleasure of meeting Jesse. What a pleasant man.
All in all, A+ in our book.

shari - 2-6-2010 at 11:50 AM

Oh my goddesssssss.....I'm so hot for your food Jesse...why do you think I sent Sirenita to live in La Paz....so I could go eat at your restaurant!!!!:light: Truly lovely...so glad I'm eating a fresh crab melt while looking at your stunning plates.
I'll take the lamb por favor...do you deliver??
