The flower fields in the Los Osos Valley were in full bloom this week:

Otters were relaxing in Morro Bay:

Beautiful white pelicans cruising at Windy Cove:

Now we go underwater - first a one-spot fringehead completely out in the open - very unusual:

Sarcastic fringehead:

But the real highlights were the nudibranchs - Polycera atra:

Two species side by side, Triopha catalinae and Hermissenda crassicornis:

Triopha catalinae all by himself/herself (they are both):

And the world's most beautiful nudibranch, Janolus barbarensis:

I motorcycled by those fields today, they have been spectacular for the last few weeks. I first visited this area in 1962 and it took me a few years to become a local but have never found a place I would rather live.

Your underwater photos are incredible! Thanks for posting them.

Ken, as a former resident of San Luis Obispo and Avila Beach for 37 years................thank you for the memories! Still own property there.

BTW, I got my open water scuba license in MB.

Ken your pics are always unique & AWESOME! Colors in the flower fields are great. My absolute favorite is the otter at leisure....I love that one!! The underwater shots are so amazing! Thank you for sharing!:bounce:

Thank you Ken.You just took all the stress out of my head. The Pelicans are so serene looking and as always, your nudibraches are "out of this world' Wonderful!!

Oooo, you had a good trip this time, Ken. No wonder you shared this batch.

One of your better 'barbarensis' shots. And the fringeheads came out really exceptional this time.

BTW, I read recently that the sea otter populations are starting to drop again. There are fewer pups being counted as well. They're not sure why these changes are occuring.

Outstanding pics. Heading that way in a few weeks on my way to Big Sur, hope they're still blooming!
