My Jeep is Cold

In fact, it refused to start this morning..The hood release inside would not open to jump-start it. I didn't want to go anywhere today, anyway.

6:00 am this morning

Where am I? (in the pic and in the world?) (hint: look under the sign on the porch) In the tractor rig at the bottom is the the Christmas Tree bound for the Capitol in Washington DC

Bingo! I used to live up here in another lifetime. It's already been pointed out to me that NORMAL people go SOUTH not NORTH for the winter:lol::lol:

I'm starting to remember about that stuff. We were supposed to travel to Idaho...5 hours & two mountain passes...for Thanksgiving, but we opted for Plan B...walking next door

or we could go hunting...

If you can, take a photo of the Buffalo Bill Hunting party on display in Cody... I can't find the duplicate my mom gave me... her dad is in the photo. It is a large group and I recall an Indian in his full headgear feathers as one of the members with Col. Cody. Thank you!

hey, I bought a new Baja car this summer...a Subaru Forester. guess what it came with? a plug in for the engine block heater. now I'm prepared!

Will do!

Is it in the museum or at the Irma? I was planning on visiting the museum soon.

My mom said it was a big photo in the museum... I think she bought a souvenier small duplicate of it... I would gladly pay you back if they sell those.

The photo shows (I am recalling from my youth now)... about 1-2 dozen men... with rifles posing... an Indian wearing feathers is one... My grandfather is in the center... no hat... Bill Cody is wearing fringed rawhide jacket in the back row I think... standing... ???

Thanks... If names are given of people in the photo, his is Klein.

I knew because I went through Cody this summer. Pretty nice town, although the revitalized old town section is a bit more touristy than some of the other towns we went to. Shore is a biker haven.

The museum is simply incredible. So much more than just Buffalo Bill memorabilia. 15 bucks gets you two days worth of viewing. Great deal.

I should go there someday... was close when we saw Yellowstone a couple years ago... My mom was born in Cody.

Bajagypsy - 11-25-2010 at 10:04 AM

We are cold here as well, -39 this morning with the wind. Anyone want to house swap?

There are LOTS of photos posted in the digital archives online, like this one of Amelia Earhart at her ranch nearby. We drove up the Wood river last week right past this location.

The Buffalo Bill Wild West show traveled all throughout Europe speading the allure of the American West everywhere it went.

A young girl in Scotland was so smitten with the Wild West that she migrated alone in her early 20's and headed for Cody. About 100 miles short of her destination she met a young man with a motorcycle and an empty sidecar. It was love at first sight. :dudette: They settled in Meeteetse (where I am now). Some of their decendants were born in the same hospital as your mom.

The son of the man in the photo with Amelia can sometimes be found at Lucille's Cafe in Meeteetse.

Shore? Part of the Buffalo Bill reservoir west of town? I asked a retired deputy and he didn't know what you were referring to. Do you know something the cops don't?

Edited to substitue Scotland for Ireland...apparently it makes a huge difference
