La Paz hotels that accept DOGS??

Anonymous - 8-11-2004 at 02:16 PM

Anyone know of any nice hotels in La Paz that will allow you to travel with a dog?

Depending on whether

you want to be right in La Paz or not. The Marlin Club in El Centenario is where we stay because of the dogs. They have the run of the beach and fields next door, they can stay in the room and Pam the owner is a dog lover. (She has 3). Guapo, Techo, and Saphire.

Excellent food, very nice pool and the best view of La Paz lights at night.

Another Dog friendly option is the Posada de Englebert.

The marlin club is perfect for the dogs and for yourself try restaurante jardin de plata. It is gourmet italian and the view of the la paz lights from the second floor is fabulous. It is just down the street from the marlin club. Km 14 carretera al norte, el centenario, bcs 612-124-6494. fishin rich

The manager of the Posada de Englebert runs the dog rescue in La Paz. She collects street dogs, pays vet bills and gives them their shots, then sends them off to good homes. You will NEVER be turned down with a dog there. The Posada is west of Marina de la Paz and you can walk easily into town and down the Malecon.

Is this TRUE????

Will he be singing there??:lol::lol:

Web Page

richard nauman - 8-12-2004 at 08:10 AM

Hey someone found my web page!!! I'm not 100% sure the Posada de Englebert is owned by H.E. himself. IT could be a Hotel California/Eagles type of marketing story. WHen we were there they did have a magazine article framed in the office with that was about H.E. and his hotel. I would love to confirm the story...

That web page was my first attempt and I'm currently working (slowly) on a new and improved version. If you have any suggestions for design please let me know. Its easy to make a web page but hard to make a really good one. I have a lot of respect for the folks who put together these forums. Its a lot of work!!! Thanks,

Posasdada De Englebert is owned By Englebert the singer. We have one of the Rescue puppies from down there. A friend of mine helps fine homes for the puppies and flys them up to TJ.Then brings them up to her rescue in Ramona until they have homes. Any one looking for a dog or cat let me know I can send you the web site.

Thanks everyone and one more question...

flyfishinPam - 8-12-2004 at 06:22 PM

..I'm the anon who asked the original pregunta by the way..

between these two hotels, which one has internet hookup in the room if I bring my own laptop, also which has a pool and which is more cushy and posh? the dog hotel is for my friends and if either are nice we will also stay although I like the downtown better but we'll see.

Thanks again!

Posada de Englebert

Hey Pam,
I would be really suprised if the Posada de Englebert had internet hook ups. Its way more old school than that. IT does have a nice pool and good restaurant (I haven't been there since 2002 so things could have changed). Good stiff drinks at the pool side bar. The garden around the pool is nice.

Drawbacks include the location - its a little hard to find, the beach is not that nice and it has a view of the old giant abandoned hotel (Grand Baja?). The Posada is not really down town - to find it you have to turn towards the bay from Abosolo Street at the Volkswagon Dealership.

Thanks Richard!

...I will need to call them as they don't seem to answer e-mails. I need internet hookup or at least a phone in the room where I can log into my account with prodigy on my laptop. I know exactly where it's at and its not far from town since we have cars, but the dog thing is important as my friends are bringing a large one (well behaved). What do you think of the rooms?
