... which is southwest of San Felipe and west ,northwest of Puertecitos: Rancho El Parral, the next canyon north of Matomi.

No guesses, so the answer is Parral Canyon, behind abandoned Rancho el Parral. If you are thirsty in the desert, just head up a canyon!
