La Paz landings?

skydiveblake - 11-5-2011 at 06:01 PM

I'm spending a day donating my services and aircraft doing tandem skydives in La Ventana to raise money for the local school there. Punta Arena is closed right now, so I may have to use La Paz.

Anyone have any beta on what they charge, are they drama free, how much is avgas, etc?

Any advice is much appreciated.

all your answers are at bush pilots int'l. frmrly baja bush pilots. you need to join and get the latest data.

but....you will be charged a landing fee each time. they will place you in the comm'l category for fees.
you will have to go thru the flight plan drill for each take off. lots of walking.
gas has gone to over $5 a gal.
are you sure Punta arena is closed?
if is was me i'd do it out of Pescadero and make trips to MMCL for gas.

What day, what time, how do we make reservations?

Maybe this isn't the right time, simply because your preferred strip is being blockaded by locals attempting to maintain access for the local community.

The present circumstances associated with the blockade should be over soon and at that time more people will be arriving.

November is typically a more windy month than December or January and therefore waiting this out might be preferable due to the larger number of local visitors and improved skydiving and air strip conditions.
