Note: Although the event is in conjunction with the San Diego Museum of Man, you can get tickets for the tequila tasting event only and make your own arrangements for meals and transportation. The lecture portion is informative and entertaining, with headsets and translator provided. The artisans market (for brunch and mariachis), the cultural center (tequila tasting) and restaurant are all within easy walking distance from each other (1-2 blocks). This is really a fun event!

Whole package with bus transportation is $80. http://www.museumofman.org/html/events_tequila.html

When I went to the first event, the ticket price for the lecture/tasting event only was about $12. We spent the night and had dinner at the Estero Beach hotel, as well as breakfast the next morning (highly recommend the patio seating for breakfast).
You can email tequilafest@hotmail.com and ask. Adalberto Perez-Meillon has a San Ysidro post office box to send payments to.
