ncampion - 5-22-2014 at 06:55 PM

I'll say Hi for you Howard. Lunch tomorrow!!!

BajaBlanca - 5-22-2014 at 06:59 PM

What a great way to be welcomed to Baja closer to home...my only complaint is that the highway 1 sign needs to be higher and bigger.

Even knowing where it was in theory, were I on my own, I don't think I would ever have found it. And I would have missed a great meal in a pretty location. Thanks Mariz and Chris!

The entrance

The Gorgeous Mari!

The venue, we were all eating upstairs due to the delightful breeze, but there are more tables by the pool.

The waitress, who speaks fluent English and Spanish.

A decorated wall

A swim up bar!
All they need are some rooms to rent and perfection will have arrived! Hint, hint.

The garden in front....really beautiful.

The delicious food. I had a southwestern inspired roll, like a Chinese spring roll, but with beans and rice, fried, with an incredible sauce to dip it in. Les had the pulled pork. All GOOD.

"No Mascotas"! What did you do with Rex in the very hot temperatures??

cliffh - 5-23-2014 at 07:02 AM

We will all miss your reports on La Paz, have fun back home. What is location of this great meal. Fun travels C&C

Mariz - 5-23-2014 at 08:09 AM

It was so great to meet you and Les, Blanca! We look forward to your next trip this way.:D

Rex cooled off under our little palapa at our fish cleaning station...what a good boy!

We are located just south of Loreto, just across the bridge as you head towards Nopolo.

Thanks Blanca for posting this and your photos!!!;D

BajaBlanca - 5-23-2014 at 09:10 AM

Rex was just fine and although we took him out. Often in La Paz, we do not normally take him to restaurants. He was just fine under the palapita!

Wonderful fun eating there....I still have leftovers for my lunch today...

:bounce:

Have a great day folks and if you go to Loreto, for sure make a stop at Sabor. It was pretty busy yesterday, I bet they have to start taking reservations soon.

Cliffy - 5-23-2014 at 09:59 AM

Yup, just as we remembered our time there.
WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO EAT!
We will never go by without stopping.

TLBaja79 - 6-2-2014 at 05:39 PM

I'll 2nd all the good things said about Sabor!

What great ambiance and great food just out of town. We really enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely be back.

TLBaja79 - 6-13-2014 at 07:11 PM

Does anybody know what the best way to get to Sabor is, if you don't have your own wheels? I'm sure a cab out there would be easy... but a ride home???

Can they call a cab for you or???

Mariz - 6-13-2014 at 08:19 PM

Yes! We can get a cab for you no problem!!!

Hope to see you soon!

David K - 6-14-2014 at 10:24 AM

Nice!

Thanks Blanca!!

BajaRun - 10-23-2014 at 10:01 AM

I'm looking forward to going back to Sabor in a few weeks!! Baja 1000. Love the place. I was there only once in April when I was in Loreto for NORRA . I was the only person there at the time for lunch. As it turns out Chris and I grew up in the same "City" in South Orange County. Graduated from HS the same year (different schools). I won't pass through Loreto again without stopping in for a cold cerveza!!!

BajaBlanca - 10-23-2014 at 01:01 PM

Boy, talk about a small world story, both of you being from south OC.

Mariz - 9-24-2015 at 05:33 AM

Hola Nomads!

Sabor! Restaurant will be open in one week! We will be opening on
Thursday October 1st at 12:30pm. We will be serving lunch again as
well as Sunday brunch. Sabor! will be open Wednesday through
Saturday from 12:30 to 8 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am to 8pm. We have
been busy adding more shade and a new wood-fired pizza oven. Ashley has
designed us a beautiful new website and a android app that makes it
very easy to make reservations and find out the latest. See our new
site, get the app, and see the full menu at www.saborloreto.com
We missed all our friends over the summer! Hope to see you very soon!

David K - 9-24-2015 at 08:10 AM

Thank you, Mariz... I hope to be back in Loreto and try your place. Local Nomads speak so highly of it!

And....it is located on the east side of the highway (on your left as you head towards La Paz)....down a nice sandy road a few hundred meters...:saint:

BajaBlanca - 9-24-2015 at 01:26 PM

and I noticed a BIGGER sign as we went by on our way back to La Bocana from Europe!

Looks like a great menu!

Hooker33 - 10-5-2015 at 02:23 PM

We will be in Loreto on the Oct. 16, will stop in for lunch. Can I reserve the palapa for our puppy?

Mariz - 10-6-2015 at 05:31 AM

We love animals but, for the benefit of all our customers we do not allow pets in the dining areas. Sorry, hope to see you.

BajaBlanca - 10-6-2015 at 02:42 PM

hhahaha Mariz - I am sure he means the little palapa inear the entrance where we tied REX up! Not the dining area at all.....

If you reread the previous posts I wrote, we were on our way back from our month in La Paz last year when we stopped by to taste your delicious food. Everyone following our trip on nomad knew we had our perro with us and in the heat of summer, there is no way he could have stayed in the car. So, we tied him to your mini palapa at the entrance and he was happy and we were happy.

Buen provecho Hooker33 You will not be disappointed.

mtnpop - 12-2-2015 at 09:32 PM

Stopped in for lunch today, still a great meal in great ambiance....
Had the combo plate and it was all good... Don't know how new it is but there is now wood fired pizza for the scarff crowd.....
Not many there so give them a chance.... closed on mon and tues but open the rest of the week....

thanks for the good grub.....

ncampion - 12-3-2015 at 11:27 AM

If you have enough room for desert, try the Mexican Apple pie taco. Sounds terrible but you won't believe how good it is!

BajaBlanca - 12-3-2015 at 02:43 PM

I have to admit - that sounds odd but next time we go thru, I will definitely try it.

joel - 12-3-2015 at 06:37 PM

I just stopped in for a late lunch on my way up the 1 and had a great meal. I highly recommend.

liknbaja127 - 12-3-2015 at 08:30 PM

We were there last week, and had a great pizza from the pizza oven!
It is a very nice place, and Chris and family are great hosts! super clean! close to town. Will go back on next trip:bounce:

Bajahowodd - 12-4-2015 at 06:20 PM

No chilaquiles on a breakfast menu? :?::?:
