Would like to caravan or find a retired ride along to Baja in middle of January, or first part of Fe

I am 62 retired and full time traveler. First time to Baja and would feel better traveling with someone until I gain the experience. I plan on leaving the middle of January, or first part of February. In May I go to Alaska until July. I am in no hurry, but I like to fish. I am totally legal, and don't smoke or drink. I drive a Dodge dually and pull a fifth wheel trailer which is fully contained with generator. Would like to find someone to caravan with for safety. Even a family that owns a car to be a team. You can email me at: exclntman@earthlink.net If interested to maybe travel as a team. I live an hour drive from San Diego.

You may find someone to carvan with you, but my advice is to take your phone number off this thread--or any other thread, for that matter--immediately. Go to the "Edit" icon and go back and remove it. These public Forums are NOT secure. You may not want your phone number plastered over the web, even though this is not a large site.

You may want to give a little more information about your reasons for caravaning. Baja is not on another planet. We didn't 'caravan' when we first visited in the '60's, and we haven't 'caravanned' since then.

You 'go' to Alaska in May. Does that mean you drive? If so, you travel through a lot of wide open country. Baja is no different. Take care, take precautions, and take your time. Enjoy the trip. It's a beautiful place with many beautiful people in it.

I removed my phone number:

Thank you Junior for alerting me not to post my phone number online. Yes I do travel through Canada, and don't have any problems, but they speak English also. I don't speak any Spanish. I ussually park at night in Wal-Mart's, grocery store parking lots, or rest stops. I have never had any trouble.

I'm not the one who should be replying here. I don't pull a 5er into Baja. You probably need some info from experienced trailer-travelers down here.

I suggest trying over at http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm

There's a thread there entitled RVing in Mexico, and you will probably find the answers to your questions.

Good luck and have a great time.

BTW Mi espa?ol es muy limitado pero eso no ha evitado que gocemos de eso pa?s hermoso.

Bufeo has it right - i might add

there are many special clubs for RVers in baja like the Vags, vagabundos - and others, i think one had a yearly members party last week in SD and it is on many threads here - but i forget the names since i don't join or use them - i prefer to fawk up on my own! or with smaller groups of equally inept adventurers.....
but there are resources for those that like the group dynamic.

one more thing - you can "hide" your email addy for security and still impartwhat it is - like mine is
