Hey nomads, anybody know if theses guys are still open??

Katiejay99 - 7-16-2014 at 04:48 PM

Yep they are open. I drove by it today and the waiters were waiting at the entrance for someone to come in to eat.

Bajahowodd - 7-16-2014 at 04:50 PM

A nice place.

Is Cafe Todos Santos still around?

Katiejay99 - 7-16-2014 at 04:52 PM

Yes Cafe Todos Santos is still around as well.

We have lots of other restaurants that have opened recently that are really good, too.

Thanks Katiejay99, sounds like your the person to ask about any info down in that part , So HOW!! do these places survive the overhead to stay in biz, Being a chef and ex owner I know how hard it is, when blanca was in la paz it seems most of there visits to eating establishments they were the only 1's there:?::?

There are quite a few of us 'Nomads' in this area and some of the others may jump in, too.

I don't know how they make it to be honest. Some just shut down during the summer. I know of several that won't last another month mostly because the prices are high and the food is mediocre. I know of a couple that will make it just fine because the food is very affordable and it's great food. I don't eat out often so I don't visit them much.

I don't know how they stay in business, I never see anyone in there even during the high season.

I don't know about Los Adobes, but there are businesses in Mexico that exist to launder money, I also know of two nice hotels in Todos Santos that never have a guest.

cabobaja - 7-16-2014 at 06:33 PM

Well Monoloco, please tell us which two nice hotels never have a guest? I have been here the
past 18 years and beg to differ.

The Hacienda in Las Brisas and the new hotel on the south end of town owned by the same guy.

Bajahowodd - 7-18-2014 at 04:48 PM

Geez. Are you referencing the Hacienda Hotel in Queretro?

I wonder is it the same family? We started going there way back before the turn of the century.

Katiejay99 - 7-18-2014 at 05:15 PM

Cafe Todos Santos and Los Adobes have both changed ownership over the past 5 or more years. Neither one is close to what they were in the past.

Adobes use to be happening. The Cafe too.

Katiejay99 - 7-18-2014 at 07:38 PM

Los Adobes was the first place in Todos Santos to have wi-fi. It was also a fun place to just hang out. Now it is easy to forget it is even there.

Cafe Todos Santos was always a great place to go for many reasons. It is also easy to forget it's there.

Miguels is still around and so is Shut up Franks. Frank has re taken over the management of that establishment and it's got the BEST hamburgers around!!

Cafelix is a great place to go with great food.

I ate at the Pescaderia across from the Similares pharmacy and I'll tell you, the price was high and the food was mediocre. I will probably not return.

I have heard that the restaurant next to the red light is good but I haven't eaten there yet.

Chill n grill is behind the Pemex and they are really trying, I'll give them that.

Los Faroles is still around but I'm not that attached to their food.

I LOVE Miguels!! I could go on, but I won't.

Bajahowodd - 7-19-2014 at 04:53 PM

The funny thing, in my opinion, is the Shut Up Franks is still open and thriving. Been there a very, very long time.

How about Las Fuentes?

Katiejay99 - 7-19-2014 at 05:50 PM

I put Los Faroles and I meant Las Fuentes. Lol
They are still on the corner at the red light.

Shut up Frank's HAS been here a long time. Frank, his wife, son and daughter are running it right now. I LOVE the Blue Cheese Burger!!
