Manu's Fushion chinese restaurant in Vizcaino

shari - 8-30-2014 at 07:30 AM

Once again we had a terrific meal at Manu's Fushion restaurant in Vizcaino. It is just a couple doors down from Sotres grocery store with the parking lot in front of it across from the segundas and has a black front on it. It is a big place with a very nice ambiance and air conditioning.

Su remembered to wear a scarf!

I love the buffet style so you can just get food to go too. They have the usual fried rice, chicken or beef chow mein with lots of veggies, sweet and sour, egg rolls and sushi rolls as well. Since they dont sell beer, you can bring in a 6 pack from next door. the portions are huge so one meal lasts me 3 days!!!

The service was wonderful and it is a nice break when doing your shopping in Vizcaino or just passing through. Here is the team there who were so nice to us all. Tell them Shari from Asuncion sent you!!!

Looks great. YUMMY!! A must stop.:bounce:

Thanks for the heads up!

Can you post a google earth pic of the location?

I usually blast thru Vizcaino (making sure to slow for those brutal topes) but would love to try this restaurant.

shari - 8-30-2014 at 08:18 AM

if you are heading north....it is the block after the big 4 way stop sign on the left...I suck at google earth

chavycha - 1-4-2015 at 11:32 AM

We stopped in here last night as it was time for a break from tacos. Shari's description is spot on. The restaurant is easy to find and it's a very comfortable little space for a sit-down meal after a long day on the road.

We didn't try the sushi, but instead opted to sample four of the hot dishes they had in the case. It's done by the order (chico or grande), and you get two entrees and rice on the plate. Lemme tell you, the chico is plenty for even a very hungry person. I got the grande and was only able to finish half of it (and I am a big guy and was starving when we arrived).

The food which we had was similar style to Americanized Chinese places - sweet-n-sour chicken, stir-fried beef with peppers & onions, etc. Admittedly I wasn't expecting much from Chinese in Vizcaino, but it hit the spot. The grilled chicken dish was the best of the bunch.

For one grande, one chico, and a couple of drinks, our total was 240p. Quite reasonable, considering that we took home enough for another meal.

The Google Maps images are hopelessly outdated (2006). As you're driving north into Vizcaino, stay to the far right on the paralelo. You'll go past the largest market in town (Sotres) on your right. You'll then hit a 4-way intersection. There's a stop sign on the median (between the through lanes and the paralelo) that's easy to miss. One block past that intersection, on the right, is Manu's. Red trim and large glass windows facing the highway. Hard to miss. There's plenty of parking on the curb in front of the restaurant. If you hit the Tortugas/Asuncion turnoff and light, you've gone too far.

I am trying to find it on the newer Bing satellite maps. Northbound, Shari says it's on the left and chavycha says its on the right???

chavycha - 1-4-2015 at 11:43 AM

She was referring to the big stop sign which is on the left (in the median) if you are in the rightmost paralelo lanes.

Ah so, the stop sign is on the left... those Canadians and their directions! LOL

OK, Done...

In your photo above it's the small white building to the east of the "o" in "Carretera Santa Rosalia-Ensenada"

See white dot...

Southbound on Hwy. 1, it is about 4-5 side streets south of the Asuncion/ Tortugas junction, on the left.

That's the place! Thank you!

My pleasure... Now, if I could only get down there to try it before they are gone!

rts551 - 1-4-2015 at 12:37 PM

Have eaten there 4 times over the last year, both inside and to go. 3 times were good. Once I ordered sweet and sour chicken (pineapple chicken) and watched as they moves chicken from one dish to another because they were almost out. Was not a good result. I usually ask they cut the rice portion in half...way to much rice for me.

It was from the baked chicken to the sweet and sour. I guess they thought it was ok. wish we had a restaurant review and a restaurant location section. My Mexican internet can not keep up with all the maps..been very slow lately.

At first I thought the chicken moved was from someone elses uneaten plate and that is gross. But now I see that it appears to have been just an attempt to cover up their lack of product ---- a bit deceitful, but not gross.

not that bad Diane... We will probably try it again. But it is buffet and not cooked to order. Comida China.

Ralph,
We will probably give it a try when we are there. I wonder if the Chinese restaurant in Guerrero Negro is still there? Is was not very good at all, and quite expensive for what it was and the area.

rts551 - 1-4-2015 at 06:41 PM

Lets see, do you have a map for it? Used to be the only option for miles. Last time, a while ago, it was still there. Agreed....and Comida China is similar. Maybe eve a little smaller.

Well, here is the only map I found --- sorry, no GPS --- but then again, I don't recomend this place if it is still open --- and I have actually been there :-)

How about a compass rose !!! or is heads up.. north ?? looks good.....

shari - 1-5-2015 at 07:43 AM

I have been there dozens of times and always had great food...it is our "go to" place now in Vizcaino plus you can sit for hours on the computer and they are very sweet. Great local owners and staff.

If they are nearly out of something, I wait till the fresh plate comes out. They do have a system of keeping the battered fried chicken in another to add to the sweet and sour if the chicken pieces get slim.

Ok to use some leftovers in a restaurant, but recycling chicken after it has sat out on the buffet is a no-no! Yuck!

some dead bird got transferred from one buffet dish to another. That's recycling ??:lol:
hey, if you're putting dead birds into your living system (stupid move, btw (unless you find yourself closing in on starvation)) what does it matter ? (other than ingredient conflicts)
