Straight out from the South Campos!

bajaguy - 9-15-2014 at 09:22 AM

I thought the south campos were in the 28-35km (road) area. Wouldn't 73km be south of Puertecitos???

The Km. 0 point is 10 km. south of central San Felipe (traffic circle) where the highway turns off the airport road. So, add 10 km off the bat for the distance from San Felipe. Next, the earthquake was not under Hwy. 5, but a many kms. out in the gulf. Finally, the map shows it straight out from between Bahia Santa Maria (Km. 31) and Punta San Fermin/ Arroyo Matomi (Km. 59)... this is the majority of the "South Campos" camp locations.

On this map, San Felipe is the bay at the top and Gonzaga is the bay at the bottom (Punta Final south point of bay complex). Puertecitos is halfway between the two.
